Your German players can tell your CRM was translated
I have spent seven years running CRM for German casino and sportsbook players, in the regulated market and outside it. Most operators treat Germany as a translation problem. It isn't, and that's usually where the retention goes.

+20%
More reactivated players at a multi-brand casino operator
+50%
Improved registration-to-FTD ratio on individual brands after onboarding was rebuilt
100+
Brands across 20 markets under my oversight
07
Years in DACH iGaming across Kindred, ComeOn and a multi-brand agency
What I find in almost every DACH programme
The copy was written in English first.
Then translated. German players pick this up immediately. The tone is slightly off, the sportsbook terms are not the ones people actually use, and every brand ends up sounding the same.
The flows came from another market.
They were built somewhere without a €1 stake cap, without deposit limits, without OASIS. They get moved to Germany, they underperform, and everyone decides Germany doesn't work. Usually the flow doesn't work.
Early life gets ignored.
Registration to first deposit is where German cohorts are won or lost. It is normally the least touched part of the journey.
Nobody owns it.
Brand teams run their own calendars, central marketing runs campaigns, and none of it connects. No shared segmentation, no naming conventions, no way to tell what actually worked.
The 2027 licence cycle is being decided now
Germany's review of the 2021 Interstate Treaty is running this year and a new licensing cycle starts in 2027. The operators who do well in DACH from 2027 will be the ones who fixed their retention before the decision landed.
Regulated share sits around 77% and the market grew in 2024. It is not a dying market. It is a hard one, and hard markets pay for people who already worked out what works inside the constraints.
Three ways to work together
DACH CRM Audit
from €4,500
Two weeks. I go through your German lifecycle end to end and give you a written findings document, a prioritised fix list, and a walkthrough with your team.
German-First Content System
from €3,500
Tone of voice, glossary, register rules, prompt library and worked examples. Built with your team and handed over with training so they can run it.
Interim CRM Lead
from €3,500/month
Three months, four days a month. Strategy, segmentation, lifecycle design and coaching for your CRM executives. Defined start, defined end.
Licensing questions
I don't advise on compliance. When a project needs it, I work with a German compliance specialist who does, and who has worked on the regulated German market directly. You can bring us in together or take the introduction and contract separately. Ask me on the call.
Who you would be working with
I'm German/Portuguese, I live in Malta, and I have spent the past ten years working in iGaming. Customer support, fraud analysis, poker product and CRM on DACH at Kindred with the Unibet brand, then German CRM for casino and sportsbook at ComeOn through the worst years of re-regulation with Sunmaker and Mobilebet. After that I led a regional CRM team of around 10 managers at a multi-brand agency, covering 20 markets and more than 100 brands, before taking a Head of CRM role building a central CRM function from scratch.
Before that I played poker professionally for eight years. That is where the habit of arguing with your own numbers came from.
I work with licensed and offshore operators. I am a CRM and content specialist, not a compliance advisor. When a project needs licensing or compliance input, I bring in a German compliance specialist who works on the regulated market.
Start with a call
Thirty minutes, no deck. Tell me what your German numbers look like and I will tell you where I would look first. If there is nothing there, I will say so.
